Learner System Software Installation
- The student learner system installation may be accomplished
while connected online at http://armyrotcestp.destinationsinternet.com.
- Please take your time to read and follow each step carefully.
- All software programs must be turned off, to include antivirus
protection (such as McAfee or Norton Antivirus) and any
firewall programs.
- Any network circuit used to support this software must
not be blocked by a proxy server or firewall. The circuit
must be open for UDP and TCP (both ways) for Port 2820.
- Ensure the computer meets the minimum requirements for
the Destinations software. The
minimum requirements are listed here.
- The learner system can be installed from the Learner Setup
and Internet Activities CD or by going to the Army
ROTC Destinations website and clicking on the Installations
button.
- Click the "View image"
link at the beginning of each CD installation task (where
available) to view a graphic of the screen that accompanies
the task.

Online Installation
- Close all open windows on your desktop and quit all applications
except your Internet browser program. This includes any AntiVirus
Software programs (i.e., Norton AntiVirus) and e-mail (eg Outlook.)
Look for any open applications on the start bar.
- In the Internet Browser address window, type http://armyrotcestp.destinationsinternet.com
and press enter. The Army ROTC Destinations web page will open.
- Click on the Installations button,
and a new web page will open. Install the following software plug-ins:
- Java ™ Plugin 1.1.1
- Java Media Framework 1.0.2 Runtime
- Native Lesson Player 1.1
- When the program asks you if you would like to open or save,
select OPEN and answer all prompts with
Next or Yes.
Do not change the software default locations
on your computer. Close each program after it installs.
- You may now logon to the Army
ROTC Destinations website and start using the software by
clicking the Login Here button. AntiVirus software programs should
now be turned on.

CD Installation
- View image.
Insert the Learner Setup and Internet Activities
CD in the CD-ROM drive.
- View image.
The Install Anywhere screen is displayed,
followed by the Destinations Internet screen.
- View image.
In the Destinations Learner System window,
click on the checkbox adjacent to Learner Installations.
The Java Plug-in, Native Lesson Player Plug-in and the Java Media
Framework Plug-in should be selected. Click Install.
- View image.
In the Choose Install Set screen, check
Learner Installations OR Select Learner Installations from the
Install Set drop down menu. Click Install.
- View image.
The installer should proceed to install the Java
Plug-in.
- View image.
In the Software License Agreement screen
for Java Plug-in Installation click
Yes.
- View image.
In the Choose Destination Location window,
click Next.
- View image.
Please wait while the files are extracted and loaded onto your
system.
- View image.
Click the Yes button to use the Java
plugin as your default JRE. \
- View image.
After the Java Plugin has been installed the system proceeds with
the Installation of Native Lesson player. In the Welcome
screen for Native Lesson Player, click
Next.
- View image.
Please wait while the files are extracted and loaded onto your
system.
- View image.
Click the Finish button to complete
the installation for Native Lesson player.
- View image.
The screen for installation of Java Media Framework
is displayed. Click Yes to continue
with the installation.
- View image.
In the Software License Agreement screen
for Java Media Framework 1.0.2, click Next.
- View image.
In the Choose Destination Location screen,
click Next.
- View image.
Please wait while the files are extracted and loaded onto your
system.
- View image.
In the Setup Complete screen, keep the
Allow setup to modify to the PATH and CLASSPATH
checked. Click Finish to complete the
Installation for Java Media Framework 1.0.2.
- View image.
Click the Done button in the Install
Complete window to complete the Learner Installation.
