Management System Installation

1. The management
system installation is divided into six sections. A seventh section deals
with configuring your computer if you are behind a proxy server.
2. Please take
your time to read and follow each step carefully.
3. You must log in
with an administrator account to perform the install.
You will need the computer administrator password as you will need to
reboot the computer during this install.
4. All software
programs must be turned off, to include anti-virus protection such as
McAfee or Norton Antivirus.
5. Any network
circuit used to support this software must not be blocked by a proxy
server or firewall. The circuit must be open for UDP and TCP (both ways)
for Port 2820.
6. All entries
must be entered as shown. Spelling, case and punctuation are critical.
These entries are shown in red.
7. Click the
"View image" link at the beginning of
each task (where available) to view a graphic of the screen that
accompanies the task.
8. To perform this
install, ensure that you have the CD with part
number 64-13041-003.

Section 1 - Management System
1. View image. Close all
open windows on your desktop and exit all applications except your Internet
browser program. This includes any AntiVirus Software programs (eg. Norton
AntiVirus) and e-mail (eg. Outlook) Look for any open applications on the
start bar.
2. View image. Insert the
Management Installation and Support System CD into your CD-ROM drive. The
CD should auto-play after a few seconds. (If the CD does not auto-play,
double-click on the My Computer icon on your
desktop, then double-click on the CD-ROM drive letter in the window that
opens. Double-click on the DestMgmt.exe file. When
the CD runs, the Main screen will appear.)
3. View image. Install Anywhere screen displays.
4. View image. Click Next in the Destinations Management
System.
5. View image. In the Destinations Management System window, click on the
checkbox adjacent to Management System Installations. The Management
Client, Java Plug-in and Sybase Client 6.0.4 should be selected. Click
Install.

View image. In the Get User Input screen enter URL
field, type the URL of your Internet Server as shown: http://armyrotcestp.destinationsinternet.com and Port Number
as 2820. Click Install.
7. View image. Please
wait while the files are extracted and loaded onto your system.
8. View image. Press Done. The Java Plug-in install will automatically begin.
Please wait while files are being extracted and downloaded to your system.

Section 2 - Java Plug-in
1. View image. At the Software License Agreement screen, click Yes.
2. View image. At the Choose Destination Location screen, click Next.
3. View image. Please
wait while the files are extracted and loaded onto your system.
4. View image. In the Question window that appears, click Yes.
The Sybase install will automatically begin.

Section 3 - Sybase Client
If you want to run reports, you will need
to install the Sybase Client.
1. View image. The Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere screen initially shows
up. Please wait.
2. View image. A window
with the message Sybase Client Installation in Progress
will display. DO
NOT CLICK OK ON THIS SCREEN.
3. View image. Please
switch to the Sybase Installer (i.e., window
titled Adaptive Server Anywhere 6.0.2 Install) and first complete that
installation. At the Welcome screen, click Next.
4. View image. At the Choose Destination Location screen, accept the default
path shown and click Next.
5. View image. At the Setup Type screen, select Network
Client from list and then click Next.
6. View image. At the Select Components screen, click the jConnect
box to remove checkmark. Click Next.
7. View image. At the Select Program Folder screen, click Next
.
8. View image. At the Start Copying Files screen, click Next.
9. View image. Please
wait while the files are extracted and loaded onto your system.
10. View image. Click the Read Me File box to remove the checkmark and click Finish. (If you are asked to restart your computer,
select No and click Finish.)
Another setup launches.
11. View image. Click the OK button in the Sybase Client
Installation in Progress window. .
12. View image. A Sybase Update Installation in Progress window is
displayed. DO NOT
CLICK OK ON THIS SCREEN.
13. View image. Switch to
the Adaptive Server Anywhere 6.0.2 (EBF) Installation
window. In the Welcome screen that appears, click Next.
14. View image. In the Select Components window, click Next.
15. View image. In the Start Copying Files window, click Next.
16. Please wait while
the files are extracted and loaded onto your system.
17. View image. At the Setup Complete window, uncheck Yes, I
want to view the Read Me File and click Finish.
18. View image. Go back to
this window and click OK. Another Sybase Update
Installer will automatically begin.
19. View image. Let this
installer complete. DO NOT CLICK CANCEL.
20. View image. Press Done to exit the Installer.

Section 4 - Learner Workstation
Installations
To run lessons from this computer (to
preview them, for example), you need to install this plug-in.
Native Lesson Player
1. View image. Insert the Management System Installation and Support CD in the CD
drive.
2. View image. The Install Anywhere screen is displayed, followed by the Destinations Internet screen.
3. View image. In the Destinations Management System screen that appears click
Next.
4. View image. In the Choose Install Set screen, check Learner
Installations OR Select Learner Installations from the Install Set
drop down menu. Since Java plug-in was installed in Section 2, uncheck Java
Plug-in. Click Install.
5. View image. In the Welcome screen for Native Lesson
Player, click Next.
6. View image. Please wait
while the files are extracted and loaded onto your system.
7. View image. Click the Finish button to complete the installation for Native
Lesson player.
Java Media Framework
To be able to hear the sound of the
lessons, you need to install this plug-in.
1. View image. The screen
for Installation of Java Media Framework is
displayed. Click Yes to continue with the
Installation.
2. View image. In the Software License Agreement screen for Java Media
Framework 1.0.2, click Next.
3. View image. In the Choose Destination Location screen, click Next.
4. View image. Please wait
while the files are extracted and loaded onto your system.
5. View image. In the Setup Complete screen, keep the Allow
setup to modify to the PATH and CLASSPATH checked. Click Finish to complete the Installation for Java Media Framework 1.0.2.
6. View image. Click the Done button in the Install Complete
window to complete the Learner Installation.

Section 5 - ODBC System
Data Source Setup
Note: Setting up your ODBC System Data Source is
required to be able to generate reports from your computer.
1. View image. From the Start menu, select Settings and
then click Control Panel.
Double-click the Administrative Tools and then
select Data Sources. Click the System
DSN tab located along the top of the window. Then click the Add button on the right hand side of the screen.
2. View image. Highlight
the Adaptive Server Anywhere 6.0 driver in the
list and click Finish. You will be returned to the
System DSN Tab.
3. View image. Click on
the Configure button.
4. View image. At the ODBC Configuration for Adaptive Server Anywhere dialog
box, click the ODBC tab. In the Data
source name field, type Destinations 2x (this is case
sensitive).

View image. Click the
Login tab. In the User ID field,
type reports. In the Password field, type reports. ( This must be typed exactly, and it
will appear on the screen as *******.)
6. View image. Click the Database tab. In the Server name
field, type the name armyrotcestp. There is no "Database name", leave this
field blank.
7.
View image. Click the
Network tab. Select the TCP/IP checkbox and type host=armyrotcestp.destinationsinternet.com:2820. Increase the Liveness
timeout to 1200. (This is easily accomplished by adding zero 0 to the end
of 120.)
8.
View image. Click OK. A "Destinations 2x" item is now visible
in the System Data Sources list.

Section 6 - ODBC Verification
1. View image. To test
your ODBC data source, double-click the ODBC System Data
Source icon again (in the Control Panel screen). Select the System
DSN tab or button, highlight Destinations 2x in
the list, and then click the Configure button.
2. View image. On the ODBC tab, click the Test Connection
button. You should receive a message stating that the connection was
successful. Click OK.
3. If an error
occurs, re-check the ODBC information supplied on this form to make sure
there are no spelling errors or case sensitive issues, and then try again.
If the test connection still fails, contact the ESTP Support Desk at 1-888-895-7920
for assistance.
4. Click OK to close any open windows until you return to the
Control Panel, and then close the Control Panel by clicking the X in the upper right corner of the window.

Section 7 - Proxy Server
In some instances, the computer may be
connected through a proxy server. If this is the case, then a proxy server
patch must be installed. The following steps will install the patch.
If the computer is not
connected to a proxy server, DO NOT INSTALL THIS PATCH!
1. View image. Open Internet Explorer.
2. View image. Click on Tools Menu and select Internet Options.
3. Click on the Connections tab and choose the LAN
Settings button.
4. View image. If your
network is using a Proxy Server, please have the address for it. Copy this
address for use when running the Proxy Utility for Destinations on the
Management CD. (Copy
the settings on your screen - do not use the sample settings!)
5. View image. Click on
the Additional Resources on the Management Support
and Installation CD. Uncheck Learner Getting Started
Guide option and click Install.
6. View image. In the Welcome screen, click Next.
7. In the Proxy Server Information window, enter the Proxy Server
address and Port Number. Click Next.
8. View image. Click Finish to complete the Proxy Server
Setup.
9. View image. Click the Done button.

Congratulations! You are ready
to begin using Destinations Internet.
To access the Internet management system,
double-click the Destinations Internet icon on the desktop.
The destinations screen should appear
showing:
LAB NAME: US Army Cadet Command
LAB NUMBER: D333237
The ESC key will close the Destinations Internet
Screen
The USER NAME and PASSWORD will be provided by your ESTP
trainer.
The Internet Welcome Tour can be run from
the Management Installation and Support CD.

CD contains everything you need to install Destinations Internet, plus a
complete support system including Help, Online Documentation, Tours, and more!
Just keep the CD in your CD-ROM drive
while you use the management system to enjoy quick access to these
resources.
