Troubleshooting Hints and Tips

  1. Ensure the following folders have been installed:
  • C:\JMF1.02
  • C:\Program Files\Destinations 2.0 (Native Lesson Player and Management Client both install to this folder.)
  • C:\Program Files\Java Plug-in 1.1
  • C:\Program Files\Sybase
  1. Open C:\Program Files\Destinations 2.0\library\DataAccess.properties with WordPad. The contents of the file should match as below. If it does not match, correct the file to reflect the same as below and save the file.

  1. Open C:\Program Files\Destinations2.0\activity\variable.ini. The contents of the file should match as below. If it does not match, correct the file to reflect the same as below and save the file.

  1. Reload the Sybase Client again. You may reload it over itself without a problem.
      
  2. Install Learner Workstation Hot Fix (Pentium 4 Patch) if you are using a P4 machine.
      
  3. When running the MediaWeaver lessons in the Writing components, you may get an error message when exiting the lesson. The error message may be 'Visual C++ RunTime Library Error, RunTime Error, Abnormal Program Termination'. The fix for this issue is to Install Learner Workstation MediaWeaver Patch.
      
  4. If reports do not run for instructors, there may be an issue with the ODBC setup. A common error is 'Unable to get SQL statement'. Information for the correct ODBC configuration is available here.
      
  5. If you are uninstalling the Destinations Internet Management client, it is recommended to uninstall the Native Lesson Player component first.
      
  6. If you are re-installing the Destinations Internet Management client, make sure that C:\Program Files\Destinations 2.0 is first removed before proceeding to the re-install.
      
  7. If you installed Destinations using the Management Installation and Support CD with part number 64-13041-002, please install the update from here.
      
  8. If instructors are invoking User documentation through the management client using the 2.5 CD and receive an error, contents of C:\Program Files\Destinations2.0\activity\variable.ini, (in particular ACROREAD path),should be
